    On Thursday, May 28, 2020, Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards will be presented at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus and 28 4-H members will be recognized for their achievements in 4-H. 4-H Achievement Award winners will attend the National 4-H Congress with youth from all over the country in November in Atlanta, Georgia. The evening is hosted by the Ohio 4-H Foundation.

    OVERVIEW OF THE 4-H EVENT YOUTH ASSISTANTS The Ohio 4-H Event Youth Assistants (4HEYA) are a statewide group of 4-H teens that assist with Ohio State Fair events. In this process, members have an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and be involved in the State 4-H program. They develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and aspirations needed for future success. TIME COMMITMENT AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    The Ohio 4-H State Leadership Camp is the state’s premiere leadership development experience for teenage 4-H members. Leadership Camp has been delivered every summer at 4-H Camp Ohio since 1946, and the camp’s curriculum and activities have adapted with the times. The 2020 offering of Leadership Camp will host teens age 15 through 18 from counties across Ohio for five days of leadership skill development and team-based fun and outdoor adventure.

      Looking for some new fun and excitement this summer? How about hosting a boy or girl from Japan in your home for 3½ weeks? The Ohio 4-H International Program is offering hosting opportunities to 75 families, and Japanese youth on the other side of the world are anxiously waiting to learn who their new family might be! Youth arrive in Columbus on July 21, go with their host families on July 23, and return home on August 17/18.

    In an effort to recognize outstanding Ohio youth and to help those interested in furthering their education, the Ohio Expositions Commission has established a scholarship program. The purpose of these scholarships is to assist high school juniors and seniors (2019-2020) and graduates who are continuing their education at an accredited institution in an undergraduate course of study in any field.

    Event Details: The primary objective of the Communications Contest is to provide, in a friendly but competitive setting, an opportunity for youth enrolled in a 4-H horse project to demonstrate their communication and media skills on a specific equine or equine related topic.  Youth may compete in the following categories: Public Speaking, Individual Presentation and Team Presentation. Junior and Senior contests will be held simultaneously in separate rooms.
