    Livestock Judging Teams Represent Ohio at National Contests

    The top three senior teams from the 2017 Ohio State Fair 4-H Livestock Judging Contest earn opportunities to represent Ohio 4-H and compete at national livestock judging contests. 4-H members from Ross/Highland, Warren, and Wood counties recently competed at three national events. Congratulations to our outstanding youth judges!

    The Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Council (TLC) celebrated the end of their year in August. Members represented Ohio 4-H at four regional, national and international events including the Southern Regional Conference, National Service Learning Conference, National 4-H Conference and the Global 4-H Network Summit.

    Over this past year TLC raised $1,100 through the Texas Roadhouse gift card fundraiser and $1,200 with the Ohio 4-H Conference t-shirt sale. Funds were used for travel and service projects.

  6. Marvin Olinsky(Retired CEO, Five Rivers MetroParks) inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame

    Marvin Olinsky was inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame on October 7 for his lifetime achievements and contributions to 4-H.

    Honored by the Ohio 4-H Youth Development Program, Olinsky will be one of 16 people inducted during the ceremony at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

    Ohio 4-H Specialty Logo Plate Sales - Available NOW!

    The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) is once again offering a specialty license plate dedicated to Ohio 4-H Youth Development and the new logo plates are now available for purchase. Show your support for Ohio 4-H by purchasing an Ohio 4-H Specialty License Plate.  A portion of the annual plate fees collected from sold and renewed plates is given directly to Ohio 4-H and is earmarked for 4-H programming. 

  8. Marvin Olinsky: National 4-H Hall of Fame Inductee

    The vision that created Adventure Central in Dayton fulfilled the dream that Marvin Olinsky had to connect urban youth with nature in a positive context, with the goal of creating capable, caring and contributing citizens. His efforts that resulted in the Adventure Central partnership with Five Rivers MetroParks in Dayton, OSU Extension and 4-H, along with his lifelong commitment to 4-H, earned Marvin a place in the 2016 National 4-H Hall of Fame.

  10. #TrueLeaders: Jacob Shuman

    Jacob Shuman, a 4-H member from Ross County was selected as Naitonal 4-H Council's Youth in Action Award winner for Agriculture and Animal Sciences. His award focused on his service and development of a honey bee education program: Teens Educating Adults and Children about Honey Bees (TEACH B). Jacob will serve as a spokesperson for 4-H, sharing the impact of 4-H on his life and inspiring other youth. He received a $5000 scholarship and $5000 for additional agriculture programming in Ross County.
