Long Term 4-H Leadership Programs: Teen Leadership/Junior Leadership/Teen Corps

Purposes
Long-term 4-H teen leadership programs provide important and distinct opportunities for teens to be involved in advanced in-depth leadership development with a group of peers who have leadership potential. Such programs may be known as 4-H Teen Leadership, Junior Leadership, Teen Corps, or other names selected by local program organizers and participants. Regardless of the name, a balance of leadership training and education, service activities, and social opportunities should be incorporated into each of the programs.
As with all Ohio 4-H programs, the over-riding purpose of long-term 4-H teen leadership development programs and 4-H teen leadership groups is to enable young people to become self-directing, productive, contributing members of society. 4-H teen leadership programs also help achieve the overall objectives of the 4-H program.
