The
4-H Pledge
I
pledge
my Head to clearer thinking,
my Heart to greater loyalty,
my Hands to larger service, and
my Health to better living
for my club, my community, my country, and my
world.
4-H service activities are an important part of
every member's 4-H experience. As the 4-H Pledge
conveys, 4-Hers are expected to commit themselves
as good citizens for the betterment of others.
4-H service activities are effective means by
which this is accomplished.
All 4-H members should plan to devote a significant
portion of their 4-H work to citizenship development
and service learning. Each 4-H group is expected
to complete at least one service activity each
year, and make sure their total program reflects
a fairly equal balance of educational, service,
and social programs.
4-H Service Resources and Links
The
following service resources and links are provided
by the 4-H Service Leadership Committee of the
Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Priority Team to to assist
4-H’ers in planning effective service learning
activities. Effective 4-H service learning activities
are ones which meet important needs, which are
well received and supported by those served, and
which provide for member ownership, learning,
pride, and growth.
