Ohio 4-H's
International Events
Are you an adult who enjoys international activities
and working with young people?
4-H offers an outstanding volunteer opportunity: Volunteer
International County Coordinators (ICCs) work with
OSU Extension county 4-H Agents to develop awareness
and participation in 4-H International Programs. Their
responsibilities vary from recruiting and orienting
host families, to publicizing our exchange programs,
to counseling international students.
The amount of time devoted to the program is determined
by the volunteer. ICC's are involved with the
Labo, IFYE, and other Ohio 4-H International Programs. They
work hard, but receive priceless rewards. If
you are interested in a volunteer position which is
flexible and allows you to directly see the result
of your efforts, please contact your county agent about
becoming your county's local ICC.
Annual ICC Training is held the last weekend in January
in Columbus -- mark your calendar.
Note: Although this is a voluntary position, ICCs will
be reimbursed for program-related mileage at the current
Extension volunteer rate, for program-related long-distance
telephone calls, and for host family orientation costs.
