Cloverbud Program Resources

1. Ohio's 4-H Cloverbud Program - Series I
Series I curriculum materials include short term, fun, cooperative, noncompetitive activities that can be used by adult volunteers with Cloverbud children (5 to 8 years-old) to help them gain self-confidence, experience achievement, and develop positive attitudes.

The Cloverbud activities will enable adult volunteers to promote life skills in Cloverbud children through subject areas of science and technology, community expressive arts, healthy life style, environmental - earth science, personal development, citizenship - civic education, consumerism - family science, and plants and animals. There are 24 curriculum pieces in the set (3 in each of the 8 subject areas) with about 9 activities per curriculum piece.

Series I is available by hardcopy only through The Ohio State University Extension Publications. 2. Ohio's 4-H Cloverbud Program - Series I (Spanish)
For all Cloverbud Spanish-speaking volunteer leaders, Ohio 4-H Youth Development is pleased to offer the Cloverbud Curriculum Series I in Spanish available through the Internet only.

Cloverbud Curriculum Series 1 in Spanish.


Series I - Spanish Version is recommended for use by Spanish-speaking Cloverbud advisors working with Cloverbud children regardless of their language orientation. The curriculum materials include short-term, fun, cooperative, noncompetitive activities that can be used by adult volunteers with Cloverbud youth (5- 8 years-old) to help them gain self-confidence, experience achievement, and develop positive attitudes. There is no cost to you for accessing and using the Ohio 4-H Cloverbud Series I - Spanish Version.

3. Ohio's 4-H Cloverbud Program - Series II
Second set of instructional Cloverbud curriculum recommended for use by Cloverbud leaders and advisors with children ages 5 to 8. Same goals and objectives as Series I. Series II has been reviewed and approved by the National 4-H Curriculum Review Process.

The Cloverbud activities will enable adult volunteers to promote life skills in Cloverbud children through subject areas of science and technology, community expressive arts, healthy life style, environmental - earth science, personal development, citizenship - civic education, consumerism - family science, and plants and animals. There are 25 curriculum pieces in the set (3 in each of the 8 subject areas, plus one bonus curriculum) with about 9 activities per curriculum piece.

4. 4-H Cloverbud Volunteer Guidebook
This publication offers a concise reference piece for current, new, and prospective 4-H Cloverbud advisors. The guidebook explores the goals and strategies to successfully implement the 4-H Cloverbud program. It also suggests methods for guiding the healthy development and life-skills enhancement of program participants.

The 4-H Cloverbud Volunteer Guidebook contains 10 sections: A) 4-H traditions, B) What is the 4-H Cloverbud program? C) 4-H Cloverbud volunteer position description, D) 4-H Cloverbud participation, E) Who are these 4-H Cloverbud children? 6. 4-H Cloverbud Volunteer Training Video
This video, published in 2002, was developed to help volunteer Cloverbud leaders better understand the program and serve children in Cloverbuds by promoting their healthy development as life skills are enhanced. The video is about 25 minutes long and can be used in its entirety or a section at a time. The video consists of six sections, which are labeled on the video box with approximate running time.
