4-H Educators compared and contrasted their counties' CARTEENS program.

 

Strategic Planning in Local Programs

The session was designed to help new counties through the Ohio 4-H CARTEENS planning stages.

 

Teaching Kids About Insurance

(Mitch Wilson, Ohio Insurance Institute)

In this session Mitch Wilson shared tips and information to be incorporated in CARTEENS programming about insurance.

Cranking up a New CARTEEN Program

(Joe Campbell, Jim Frasure, Britt, Bridget, Josh & Matt)

The workshop covered the ABC's of starting a 4-H CARTEEN Program. Franklin County started their program in May 2005, and shared lessons learned.

 

The Impact of Parental Responsibility upon Teen Drivers

(James L. Jordan)

Parental involvement is essential in safe teen-driving. Parents are mandated to attend CARTEEN programs.   This seminar shared insights from the data collected.

 

Developing Teen Volunteer Capacities for CARTEENS programming

(Julie Banbury Robinson) An in-depth look at the effective utilization of trained volunteers for innovative programming. The learning objectives for this workshop included educating volunteer managers on the concept of effective volunteer utilization.

Juvenile Driving Issues in Butler County

(Jason Gundrum, Probation Supervisor, Butler Co. Juvenile Court)

The court views improving teen driving issues as paramount for reducing accidents and poor driving habits among teens that result in accident, injury, and death. This session included the courts' efforts to address teen driving issues such as requiring a parent to attend CARTEENS with their child, issuing driver's license suspensions for youth found speeding 15 mph over the speed limit, and developing the Juvenile Driving Improvement Project.
