Volunteer Orientation: Preparing for a Positive Future!

New volunteer orientation is one of the most critical components of the volunteer administration processes! Effective orientation allows the Extension professional to provide an overview of the organization, share expectations, and review philosophy, policies, and procedures. At the same time, the new volunteer has an opportunity to ask questions, meet their peers, interact with the Extension professional, and gain knowledge about the 4-H Youth Development program.
Ohio State University Extension 4-H Youth Development has developed a new 4-H
volunteer orientation program
(8.5
MB)*. Extension professionals may use the power point
as their primary teaching tool, or may supplement existing orientation programs.
There are a variety of important topics included in the new 4-H volunteer orientation power point and activities. Extension professionals are encouraged to use the Program Plan to guide the orientation!
