County Endowments
County 4-H endowments are permanent accounts, funded through individual donations, business and corporate contributions, and fundraising events. Each county has full control over the interest income generated by their endowment. County endowment funds support local 4-H programs through 4-H member scholarships and awards, educational workshops and resources, and volunteer training and support.
Currently, 80 Ohio counties have established or pending 4-H endowments.
The local county endowment committee members and other 4-H volunteers raise funds though a variety of special events, including:
- Endowment Dinners and Auctions
- Sales of Calendars and other 4-H products
- Special county fair contests or events

Donations from private individuals, businesses, and organizations also greatly assist efforts to strengthen a county 4-H endowment fund. Contributions are often given in memory or honor of a friend or family member.
