Meeting friends (old and new), making a Buckeye necklace, listening to OSU band music, and bidding on items in the silent auction, were just a few of the activities the nearly 300 4-H donors, volunteers and friends participated in at the 4-H Foundation’s 9th annual Celebration of Youth held Saturday, October 14th at the Bill Davis Baseball Stadium.

Head, Heart, Hands, Health & Hard Hat, a Tailgate Celebration, was a new venue for the premiere 4-H fund raising event. Held across the street from the construction site of the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, the location allowed attendees to have a bird’s eye view of the building progress. The Celebration of Youth showcased 4-H youth development programming, youth and volunteer accomplishments, and acknowledged the efforts of thousands of donors who have made the start of construction possible.

Thanks to the generous support of donors and volunteers, the 2006 4-H Celebration of Youth generated over $85,000 for the Ohio 4-H Foundation Endowment. This endowment supports innovative and ongoing Ohio 4-H Youth Development programs at the county and state levels. These program dollars are critical to enhance existing 4-H programs and to fund new programs while increasing the quality and quantity of 4-H activities in Ohio.
