Submitting ES-237 information
to the
State 4-H office:
One change from past years is that we are now requiring that counties
send us ALL of their data files, not just select files. The reason
for this is so that we can have a backup of your county's full data set. It
also makes repairs and balancing much easier. Here are the new steps
for sending us all of your data. Keep in mind, this will require
more disk space. In years past you may have sent 1-2 floppies, now
you may need to send 3-4. If you're comfortable copying these files
via other methods: cd-burning, zip-disc, or emailing them as a zipped attachment,
please feel free to do so. The following instructions will walk you
through copying your data files:
1. Go to Utilities|File Utilities.
2. Go to Select|Select All. This
should highlight all files within the window. Scroll to the bottom
of the File Utilities window. The last file in the set should be
named, "Z5Lite.db" or "Z5Lite". Hold
down the control key "Ctrl" key on your keyboard & click
the "Z5Lite.db" file. This should "deselect" this
file only. All other files should remain highlighted. If this
is the case you may proceed.
3. Click File|Copy Table. This will bring a "Save As" window. This
is where you decide where to save your files. If you plan to use
floppy disks - point it at your floppy drive, if you plan to use a zip-disc
- point it at your zip drive. Once you've pointed the save at the appropriate
drive - click "save". Keep in mind that if you're using
floppies, the save will require multiple floppy disks.
4.
Go to Windows Explorer or My Computer and check the diskette to be sure the
files are in fact on the diskette. The explorer will show that the 'px' files
have been copied along with the 'db' files. If the diskette looks complete,
it is ready to send to state along with the printed report. This completes
the ES237 portion of year-end reporting.
