Summer 2003 Update

Instructions
Enrollment Forms Patch (7/28/03) click here to download
(this file is rather large 2.9MB - depending on your internet connection this may take some time.)

IMPORTANT: You must be using version 2.3 to run this update.  If you run the update and you are not using version 2.3, you will crash your program.  If you are not currently running version 2.3 contact Todd Fox in the state 4-H office.

1. The name of the file is "Patch072803". Double-click on that file, which will open WinZip (click OK or I Agree). Then click "Unzip", which will create a folder and expand the files to C:/BRupdateJuly03 (DO NOT change that path). Click OK and Close when you get a message about "12 files unzipped successfully".

2.DO A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA FOLDER

3. Go to C:/BRupdateJuly03 and double-click on Setup (may be Setup.exe depending on the preferences on your machine).

4. On the first screen, you will see 3 choices, with "Typical" chosen. Leave that as is and click Next. After a brief "work" period, on the second screen, you will be asked if you want to restart your machine. Leave Yes checked and click Finish. When it's done installing, your machine will be restarted, and you can log in with your normal login & password.

5.If you have multiple machines that run BR, you will need to do the update on each machine (if you don't, you're going to get error messages every time you attempt to run the program).

6. After you've installed the update on the first machine, you can copy the entire folder (C:/BRupdateJuly03) to a zip disk or shared drive, then copy it to the C drive of each BR computer, and follow the directions beginning with #3 "click setup.

7. Check to see that the install "took"--in Blue Ribbon, go to Help|About and check for a date of July 21, 2003.

When you're completely finished with the installation(s) and BR is running correctly, with the correct date, then go to your C: drive and delete the entire folder named "BRupdateJuly03"--answer Yes to All if asked about deleting.
