1952
Ohio and the Nation celebrated the "Golden Anniversary" (50 Years) of the founding of 4-H by A.B. Graham.

The United States Post Office issued "first-day issue" of a U.S. 3-cent commemorative stamp honoring the 4-H clubs.


A special postage stamp was issued by the U.S. Posal Service
in 1952 in honor of the 50th anniversary of 4-H.

A statewide recognition program for 4-H volunteer advisors was held on the Ohio State campus.

A.B. Graham, founder of 4-H, visits Springfield, Ohio for a special 50th Anniversary celebration.  Several people who were members of the original club started by Mr. Graham 50 years earlier attend the celebration.
 

1955
4-H enrollment had grown to 76,420 led by 8,918 volunteer advisors.  4-H'ers were enrolling in projects such as: Farm Electricity, Welding, Speedy Meals, Let's Care for Children, and Quick and Easy Housekeeping.


4-H continued to evolve in the 1950's.


1960
Reaching an enrollment of 83,248 4-H'ers, Ohio Extension Agents were training more than 10,245 volunteers in project areas such as: Band, Colt and Saddle Horse, Lawn and Garden Maintenance, Radio, Dairy Kid, Commercial Sheep Flock, Photography, Teenage Talkover, Host and Hostess, Dog Obedience, and Articles to Use and Wear.
