 1932-1941
(Fourth Decade)

1934
Approximately 52,565 4-H'ers were enrolled in nearly a hundred different projects.


Sewing was a popular 4-H project in the 30's 
and remains so today.

424 youth and 60 4-H advisors attended Ohio 4-H Club Congress in Columbus, Ohio.
 

1935
One boy and one girl from each county were invited to attend a special state camp for 4-H Junior Leaders.  This camp is currently called "4-H Leadership Camp," and still being held each year at Camp Ohio, located in Licking County.


State Leadership camp has been held at Camp Ohio since 1935.  Pictured here is a modern-day 4-H Leadership Camp. 

1936
The first state "4-H Conservation Camp" was held at Camp Ohio in Licking County.  This camp is still being held each year at Camp Ohio.
 

1940
Every county with a 4-H program was represented in the 4-H division at the Ohio State Fair.

488 youth attended Ohio 4-H Club Congress, held for the first time on the Ohio State University main campus.
 

1941
4-H'ers got involved in war efforts, planting "Victory Gardens," collecting scrap metal, baling wire, waste fats and buying war bonds.
