Help us solve the mystery of Carver's Colonial Bread. It's named after the well known African American Scientist, George Washington Carver. His discovery of soy flour, soy oil and soy milk helped improve the nutritional content of bread. The original 1925 recipe was designed for commercial production. Loaves were baked and sold to Ford Motor Company employees. Since then, the ingredients for this recipe have remained a mystery. Until now that is. Recently, we met a baker who perfected a bread machine version of the recipe. When we asked her for the recipe, this is what she gave us:
She challenged us to think like detectives and unravel her mysterous recipe. We began by studying the letter/number combinations. We believe each combination represents the aisle where an ingredient is found. And we suspect that the amounts in grams indicate how much to buy. But her bar-coded descriptions of the ingredients have us puzzled. When we scanned them all we got was, "CYBERMART BRAND."
How about helping us solve this mystery by taking a trip to the Cyber-Supermarket? You only have $25.00 to spend so shop carefully and make your guesses count.
Good luck!
